Waxing and waning on what boring car to buy back in 2014, I had the epiphany that I could buy a fun sports car for the money I was going to spend on a daily driver.  Lucky for me I sat next to Mike C at work who was incredibly persistent getting me to bring it out for my first event on Shenandoah at Summit Point.  Now I'm hooked and ecstatic to be a part of GTM!

I started doing HPDE events in mid 2012 and became an HPDE instructor in 2014. I have worked with several DE organizations over the last few years but a majority of my time instructing is with Hooked on Driving North East Region and Summit Point Friday at the Track. Back in 2006-2008 I also had the pleasure of living in Germany and made frequent trips to the Nurburgring and Hockenheimring.

I have driven an interesting smattering of cars on track that has given me experience with both FWD and RWD vehicles to include an 07 Rabbit, 08 135i vert, and an 11 Jetta Sportwagen TDI. Because there aren't many instructors with FWD experience, you will often find me in the right seat of VWs and Minis on track.

Besides Hockenheimring and Nurburgring, my on track experience includes Watkins Glen (both layouts), Road Atlanta Full Course, 4 Pocono configurations including the Tri-oval, Lime Rock, VIR Full and Grand and several more.

You can find track videos in my YouTube Channel, I have started posting pictures of events to Instagram, and I occasionally post on Twitter and my blog

Feel free to approach me if you see me at an event and introduce yourself.

Ever since I was a baby I have been at race tracks.  My dad raced in SCCA, various open wheel classes such as FV, FF, FC.  I did not start doing anything motorsport related behind the wheel until I was stationed in Arizona where I competed in SCCA autocross events with my STi.  I eventually found my way to Maryland for work and began to seek out doing track days with my STi, being an SCCA member I began participating in their PDX events at Summit Point, with the intention that I would eventually begin road racing.  It was at the early PDX events where I met the GTM crew and I decided to join in on their track and social fun.  Eventually I made it out to a Skip Barber race school to get my competition racing license and this year I began racing Spec Racer Ford with the SCCA.

If you haven't met Kenny, when you do, you'll never forget him. Larger than life and the track endurance of a marathon runner. #outeverysession.

When you come to events with our little community, you'll probably get to know that I'm part of the welcome committee. Like I said, I'm always there, whether I'm driving or not. I swear, I don't bite. Come over and hang out in our little tent village and get to know everyone. There are a lot of great people in our group. We take care of each other and it's far better to go to the track with friends than to go alone.

My story is pretty simple. I grew up in Kentucky, talk to me for more than 10 seconds and you probably would have figured that out. I spent 10 years in the Army and lived in some interesting places, the last of which was APG, Maryland. I now live in Abingdon, MD with my wife Corey (you'll see her at the track), our dogs Ember and Harper (also, will be at the track), and my cat Cheeto (He won't be at the track, outside scares him).  My wife and I enjoy doing activities in vehicles, I like to drive fast and she likes to drive over and through things, we tend to spend a lot of time in WVA / VA doing those things. But, most of all we enjoy having a good time and meeting new people.
